Check those rims! Yes, Lutz ran out of things to fix after the remodel and shined them up! Now we sparkle when we are cruising. Check out the remodel! As I said, so much more room. The sofa is amazing and makes into a double bed, plus it has storage for sheets and blankets underneath. With the left over space we put in an huge Ikea kitchen three drawer set. Now I have room for more gadgets! After our brief stay at El Capitan we headed to Soledad campground near Palmdale California. It’s twenty miles east of LA and bare naked empty land as you can see in the picture (we are the 2 left trailers behind the green roofed cabins). We met up with my daughter and her family to spend the Labor day holiday together. Their new trailer is fantastic. The double bed bunk beds are perfect for the three girls. Of course what’s a holiday without a hamburger? Plus, my potato fries with homemade horseradish mayo.
2016 October 04: Inland we go!

I'm Melinda Stevens and living the life of a beach bum was inevitable since my father was a lifeguard for the city of Los Angeles. My memories of growing up on John Street in Manhattan Beach, California were filled with joy, excitement and adventures; until my world, as I knew it, fell apart when we moved to Del Mar, California. My father was offered the position as Captain of the lifeguards and we started the slow migration to the small deserted stretch of beach in 1963. At twelve years old, this seemed like the end of my life. Remember, I’m writing with clear hindsight now, ok somewhat clearer… Little did I know this would be the beginning of a new journey and give a bit more clarity to many of the events that led me to this new cooking adventure.
