This is an interesting community, and I have all the respect in the world for their mission and way of life. It’s refreshing and definitely takes a serious approach to clean eating, avoiding harmful elements, and helping the environment.
I’ve discovered a few sites that are really informative regarding this Philosophy and hope they are helpful to you.
Their site has been around since 1944 and is filled with information about their lifestyle and great ways to get involved, and where to start if you choose this path. I especially liked their definition:
“Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms, it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.”
Dr. Greger’s videos are short and to the point. They are a joy to watch, and his humor is refreshing. You can sign up for weekly email news which presents research regarding nutrition and controversial subjects on most any medical subject. He is a Vegan and promotes the health benefits of this lifestyle. On his site, Nutrition.org, the coolest thing is that he does all his own videos, all the materials are free, and any money he makes is donated. Please take a minute and watch one of his 3-5 minutes videos. I know you will enjoy him.
The Vegan Diet-A Complete Guide for Beginners
This site is one of my favorite sites, and I have used it to share Paleo, Keto, and Vegetarian lifestyles. The article is short, simple, and to the point. I love the little paragraphs after each section so you can get the main idea if you’re in a hurry. Take a peek to get started learning about this plant-based way of life!
